Discovering Boundaries Together
Discovering Boundaries Together is a kit that aims to pave the way for open dialogue between parents and young children through storytelling and play. It gives parents and children a safe space to have awkward, exciting, frustrating and difficult conversations around healthy boundaries and consent in an age appropriate manner.
The kit is designed so that there can multiple conversations over the course of time, to address the child’s needs and questions as and when they arise.
Components of the Kit:
1. BOUNDARY BLOCKS:
Using free-flowing play and building to establish a collaborative approach towards boundary setting, negotiating and decision-making.
2. STORIES WE TELL:
Fun, accessible and age appropriate narratives to introduce young children to complex discussions around healthy boundaries. These stories are intended as jumping off points to start conversations and contain stories around safety, boundaries, consent etc.
3. DIALOGUE DROPBOX:
A safe, non-verbal method for children to initiate communication. Encouraging your children to write their questions or curiosities down and dropping them into the box takes the pressure off parents to give instant answers and allows for a more thorough response.
